My work focuses on experimenting with the textile handicraft of Sardinia.
I search new expressive forms in the intersection of a contemporary perspective and the archaic art of weaving. The geometric symbols, which can be found in the most ancient weaving techniques, have been redesigned to reveal the rug’s timeless character expressed in the symbolism and materials that I use. I like to write stories through these symbols, choosing my alphabet from time to time: Braille characters often conceal the meaning or the name of the textile artwork. Each piece is to tally hand-made in Sardinia.
